Cuteness and Cupcakes!

As Halloween approaches, we're all wishing we could just be young again. What we would all give to squeeze into our old Peter and Tink costumes! Now, nothing gets me more than a cute kid on Halloween.

Sure, this isn't a Halloween baby, but she sure is as cute as a cupcake. She's so cute she doesn't need a costume! Laurel is rocking the one of a kind fruit-embellished jumper from the Pasadena, CA boutique called Jumping Jellyfish! (http://www.jumpyjelly.com/)

The store is great for unique baby fashion. My opinion? Little Laurel is ready for the runway! Hopefully we can get her walking before she outgrows the jumper!

"Eww" and "Ahh"

Just a few months ago, Harpers Baazar gave readers a peep into Halloween. The spooky editorial featured Tim Burton's Magical fashion. I was sufficiently spooked and inspired. Here's photo from the spread. The Ralph Lauren gown happens to be glorius (as it should be for a whopping $10,000). Ouch! If that's out of your price range, maybe you can manage the $5000 cape?

Probably not right?
I'm thinking I'll settle for the wig! Amazon.com ($13)

Happy [almost] Halloween!

Tramp Stamp

Oh Brad Pitt, I thought you knew better! Sure, Angelina's hot, but draw the line at letting her brand you!

I understand the appeal of tattoos.  Sometimes.  They allow us to express ourselves and be billboards for our all-important mantras.  HOWEVER... this new tattoo Brad is sporting is just not okay with me.  Now, I don't know exactly what the tattoo is supposed to mean.  Angelina describes it as something she drew--something that is "meaningful in that it's us making angels and shapes out of each other's body."

My question: Why is it on Brad's lower back. Tramp Stamp spot galore.
My qualm: How does drawing ON his back = making a shape OF his back. It doesn't.

Hopefully Angelina's sketch is more accurate than her wordage.

My thoughts? The tattoo is a no-no, not to mention a fashion DON'T! Tsk Tsk Brad.

ALERT!

She's thin. Rail thin. Possibly even gag-me-thin.

Ok, let's not lie to ourselves.. she probably smokes.  She's probably one of those "I'm hungry so let's smoke a cig instead" type of girls.  She's a standing contradiction.

It's fine, in this case, that actions speak louder than words because homegirl ain't moving.  She IS, however, requesting that you...

Don't Smoke.

She's asking politely. She even threw on a "Please," which I would have thoughtfully left out.  It's not a request.

It's a command.  It is also our message of the day...brought to you fashionably by that stick up above, and of course, yours truly!

FLORALS

The leaves are falling, the flowers are dwindling. To keep myself from going into that awful wintercoma, I decided that I'm going to pull out all of the floral patterns in my closet. As you can tell, I am OBSESSED with florals. I have floral skirts, shoes, dresses, even a cropped floral 80's tshirt that I got at Salvation Army for two dollars. I just can't get enough of the FLORALS. Although this is supposed to be a trend for spring/summer 2009, I plan on wearing florals all year long!

I especially love this outfit that Jessica Alba is wearing on the cover of Vogue. This Diane Von Furstenburg outfit is fun, bright, and bold. How can you not be in a good mood after wearing this one of a kind outfit?

I may have an addiction. FLORALS make me happy what can I say!?

Fashion Smackdown

Okay, so I'll be the first to tell you. I love a fashion smackdown. I stalk red carpet events and am always looking to see what the celebs are wearing. A couple nights ago, on October 19, 2009, Donatella Versace hit the red carpet yet again for the annual, glitzy Whitney Museum gala. She stood alongside some greats, and a couple "has-beens" (aka Mischa Barton, who obviously looked a hot mess).

Gossip Girl's Taylor Momsen hit the red carpet that evening wearing a stunning, nearly nude, floor-length Versace gown. Showing some leg, Taylor looked pretty much flawless....except when it came to her face and that atrocious weave. Return of "Raccoon Momsen"..DUN DUN DUN. Despite the lovely gown (which, as you can see above, she couldn't walk in at all), Momsen couldn't escape looking a little too much like Donatella herself. The two were practically twins, taking bleach-blonde and the smokey eye to whole new heights.

Don't even lie to yourselves. You know they look the same.

Fashion fail.

Sneak Peek

I know that as winter approaches, it's hard even to pretend that Spring will come again.  But let's face it, in the fashion world, tomorrow is always yesterday.  Clothes for next season were already introduced in September.

Flashing back to at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, a collection that particularly caught my eye this year was (or is) the Nanette Lepore Spring 2010 Collection.  In
about sixteen signature looks, Lepore mixes florals and stripes, satin and cotton to give the looks of spring new texture and light.  I especially like her color combinations.  But watch out! I did spot a few pairs of peep-toe booties.  And that is NOT okay!
